Anxiety

The way you feel is pure misery.

Another day, and nothing has changed.

From the first moment you wake, that feeling of dread begins.

Throughout the day, that voice in your head says, “You’re not good enough,” “People don’t like you,” “It’s your fault,” “It’s you.”

Those feelings are overwhelming, don’t stop, and can take a person down.

You are on constant alert for the worse.

You have an ever-present feeling that something is going to happen.

The feeling is nothing specific – it’s more like an anticipation of impending doom that hangs in the air. However, nothing happens, but that feeling does not go away.

The way you feel haunts your sleep and sometimes becomes so overwhelming that you can’t breathe.

At this point, you feel like the walls are closing in on you. You feel like a two-ton weight is sitting on your chest, and you can’t catch a breath.

Although your feeling is nothing specific, it still scares you that you can’t identify what is wrong.

This is no short-time feeling.

You’ve felt like this for as long as you can remember.

Every time that feeling arises, you hope it’s the last time and won’t happen again.

You changed – where you go, what you do, and sometimes not leaving the house.

Your life is almost like being in jail with self-imposed restrictions. You wonder, “What kind of life is this?”

You have a long-term wish.

You would love to wake in the morning and look forward to getting out of bed.

You think, “I wish I could go through the day with no apprehension about what the day holds in store for me.”

You want a life full of positive feelings instead of negative ones. You want those feelings to last more than one day – like a lifetime.

Anxiety is the term that best explains your feelings.

Anxiety is a natural response to stressful situations, such as giving an oral presentation, interviewing for a job, or competing in a sporting event. However, this type of anxiety is short-lived.

Long-lasting anxiety is an entirely different story. Constant worrying, being fearful that something might happen, and self-induced isolation are symptoms you must address because they can cause physical and mental problems.

There is no reason to allow your negative thoughts and concerns to take over your life.

Therapy can help you find the root cause of your anxiety.
